NEW DELHI – india’s Jet Airways says 12 passengers were injured during an evacuation after one of its planes veered off the runway for the takeoff on a domestic flight in western India.
The airline says on its website that 154 passengers and seven crew members on board the Boeing 737-800 from Tuesday at the Dabolim Airport in Goa, under the guidance of Mumbai.
Seven of the 12 injured passengers were discharged after receiving medical assistance, while the other five were still being treated. The airline said that none of the injuries were serious.
One of the passengers, B. K. Singh, said that there was panic on board the plane was very bumpy and waving about 656 feet from the track. He said that a number of passengers were injured when they jumped from the exit to the runway.
