Asian tijgermug discovered on the flower auction Naaldwijk
At the foot of the Royal FloraHolland in Naaldwijk is a tijgermug found. The Dutch Food and consumer product safety Authority (NVWA) found the adult Asian tijgermug in a mosquito trap. The authority fights as a precaution, all the exotic mosquitoes.
The chance that the tijgermuggen that until now in the Netherlands are found in viruses of infectious diseases transfer, would be negligible. In the Netherlands dengue fever, zikakoorts and chikungunya so far been observed only in people who are from a tropical area came. However, the NVWA, the critters would rather lose than rich.
The tijgermug discovered our country years ago, by traveling with the Lucky bamboo sierplantjes from China, and also with truck and tractor tires.
Tijgermuggen can lay eggs in stagnant water like in flower pots, buckets and vases.
