Arrests in the confrontation of the Ku Klux Klan and tegendemonstranten
The police in the United States has to intervene when a meeting of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) was blocked from tegendemonstranten. 23 people are arrested.
About fifty members of the white supremacist movement came in Charlottesville, Virginia gathered together to protest against a decision of the municipality to the statue to remove Robert E. Lee, general of the Confederate States during the American civil war.
At the time that the members back to their cars, walked, turned, hundreds of tegendemonstranten against them. A spokeswoman for the church says in The New York Times that the police tear gas had to be committed to the angry mob to disperse.
It is still unclear to which group the detainees belong to. At least three people were by the skirmishes injured.
The KKK is a movement that the superiority of the white race advocates. The organization was after the civil war established out of dissatisfaction about the abolition of slavery. The members appear in public often with white bonnets on their face and disguise.
