‘Arrested cyberexpert Russian secret service leaked to US’
Sergey Michailov, in december arrested cyberexpert of the Russian secret service, FSB, is suspected to have information passed on to the American intelligence services.
The Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta reports Thursday on the basis of sources that Michailov during a meeting of the FSB is picked up. He is facing twenty years above the head for treason.
Michailov would the U.s. authorities have provided information about the Russian Vladimir Formenko and his serververhuurbedrijf Kings Servers.
The servers would have been used by hackers with ties to the Russian intelligence services, for the execution of cyber attacks. According to news agency RBC, there are a total of four people arrested in the verraadzaak.
On Wednesday it was clear that Ruslan Stojanov was one of them. He works for the security company Kaspersky Lab, and previously worked in the police. Kaspersky emphasizes that the indictment does not relate to the work that he did for the company.
