Argentine church breaks with scouts because of support for same-sex marriage
The Argentine catholic Church has its connection with the rural scoutingvereniging broken because of their support for gay marriage, it is written in a letter of cardinal Mario Poli, addressed to the archbishop of the Argentine city La Plata, Hector Aguer.
In the text, published by the catholic news agency AICA, opts Poli for the creation of a new commitment with a group that has the same function as these scouts holds.
“For scouting, there is no way back. I have seen the association a few months ago warned: “do not pull harder on the string because that is about to break.’ And it has already permanently broken.”
According to the Argentinean Church was the scoutingvereniging increasingly vulnerable to educational projects of the Argentinean state, such as sex education and same-sex marriages.
