ARD sets Tatort off after attack Berlin
The ARD has decided that the delivery of the successful politieserie Tatort on nieuwsjaarsdag would be broadcast on the shelf to leave as a result of the attack in Berlin.
The episode ‘Storm’ is according to the German tv-station “very exciting” but also contains images and impressions “evoke associations with the terrorist act at the christmas market”.
The episode, which in april and may was recorded in Dortmund, ends with the suicide of a jihadist with a bomgordel, allowing others to perish.
“Tatort must, of course, close to the social reality, but out of respect for victims, survivors, actors and feelings of the viewers, we want this episode not on the first day of the new year. There should be more time between them”, commented programme director Volker Herres.
In 2015 set the ARD on the occasion of the terrorist attacks in Paris, the diptych ‘The great sadness’ and ‘Purgatory’ more than a month because of terrorism also played a role.
