Apple opens Chinese data center to meet new cyberwet
Techgigant Apple has eersta datacenter opened in China, in order to comply with new cybersecuritywetgeving in the country.
That confirms a spokesperson of the company to Reuters.
The new datacenter is located in the southern province of Guizhou. The techbedrijf invests $ 1 billion in settlements within this province.
Earlier this year there was a new Chinese law in operation, that tech is limited in the collection of user data. This law obliged companies to transfer data from Chinese users within the country to save it.
The law required Apple to cooperate with a Chinese company within the new data center. Therefore, the techgigant a cooperation agreement with Guizhou Cloud Big Data Industry.
Apple stresses that the systems within the new data center well protected. “There are no back doors in our systems”, said a spokesman.
