“Apple buys Israeli startup for face recognition’

Apple has the Israeli startup RealFace oergenomen. That company makes face recognition software.

That sets at least Calcalist, a business news website in Israel. Apple has the message not been confirmed.

The American company would be several millions of dollars have paid for the acquisition. Supposedly the Apple mainly do to the employees of RealFace.

Reportedly working with Apple on a way to get face recognition to unlock iPhones. Possible that function already this year, when the Touch ID-finger print scanner in a new type of iPhone disappears.

The software of RealFace makes use of the smart phone camera to recognize faces. There are no special sensors are needed.

RealFace is the fourth acquisition that Apple in Israel. On previous purchases was a lot more money. Thus, in 2013 PrimeSense, a maker of 3D sensors, bought for 345 million dollars.
