New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez hits Miami, Florida, is ‘not available’ in a few years.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, threw their weight behind a progressive Congress to overturn a candidate for addiction, Rep. Dan Lipinski, D-Ill., an eight-term incumbent, perceived and temperate.
“Marie Newman (@Marie4Congress) is a grassroots fighter for working families in #IL03,” the New York Congressman tweeted on Tuesday. To support “for me, the choice is more than just policy. It is also about who puts in the WORK. You Wear Your Shoes? Marie. Your followers are. Let’s knock doors and join them.”
Justice Democrats, a group aligned Ocasio-Cortez, has behind Newman and some of the other challengers for incumbent legislators in the house, the endorsement Tuesday.

The Democratic primary in Illinois’ third district bears a resemblance to Ocasio-Cortez to run in 2018. After the victory over a powerful Democratic incumbent in Queens, Ocasio-Cortez, a symbol of the progressive newcomers attempt against the party establishment.
Lipinski, who is against Newman in the year 2018, one of the few pro-life Democrats in Congress, and previously voted against the former President Obama’s Affordable Care Act — a landmark law that by 2020, Democrats criticized for not far enough in health reform.
In an interview with The New York Times, Ocasio-Cortez said it was “problematic” that he continues to hold the chair in a “deep blue” district.
“The fact that a deep blue seat is in favour of many parts of the Republican agenda is extremely problematic. We’re not talking about a swing state that will be forced tough votes,” she said.
Newman has also endorsements received from Sens. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., two Progressive on the front panel of the 2020 Democratic presidential field.

Lipinski, who has pushed for more conservative voices in the party, portrays the confirmation as a confirmation that Newman was an extreme candidate.
“Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez endorsement of Marian Newman makes crystal clear that Ms. Newman is an extreme candidate who will be completely out of step with the voters of Illinois, third district, does not want to be represented by a fifth member of the ‘Squad'” Lipinski said.
He pointed to Newman’s support for “Medicare for all” and the “Green New Deal” as a policy, which would increase the costs for the average American. “In addition, 1.4 million jobs lost would be support to go through this unrealistic policy, which was attacked vociferously by the unions, Mrs Newman claims.”

Tuesday’s confirmation was the second in just a few days of the New York Congressman who has become one of the most vocal progressive politicians in the country.
On Friday, the supports re-election of Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., a champion of the “Green New Deal” against a potential primary challenge from Rep. Joe Kennedy III, D-Mass.
