The 24-year-old man who authorities say was under the masked Antifa supporters attacking conservatives in a June demonstration in Portland, ore., was on Friday sentenced to nearly six years in prison in connection with a brutal baton attack.
Gage Halupowski pleaded guilty to second-degree assault after authorities accused him of using a gun against a conservative demonstrator who suffered blows to the head, the victim claims left him with a concussion and cuts that required 25 staples to close.

After the attack, police had Halupowski to the collapse of a metal rod and hid it in his pants, FOX 12 Oregon reported.
The attack outside a hotel in las vegas on the 29th of June, it was “completely inexplicable, totally unnecessary, and didn’t have to happen,” Multnomah County Deputy district Attorney Melissa marrero said, according to the OregonLive.com.

The authorities say that a Halupowski was attacked by Adam Kelly, as Kelly was trying to help another man who might have been abused, the news outlet reported.

Halupowski ‘ s lawyer, Edward Kroll, said that his client is in prison, “one of the most difficult sentences I’ve seen for someone with no criminal background, and the younger the age,” but acknowledged that the attack was caught on video that left Halupowski, with few legal options other than to accept a plea deal.
Marrero disagreed, calling the sentence appropriate for the Halupowski crimes, according to the OregonLive.com.
The costs fell under the Halupowski a plea agreement to unlawful use of a weapon, attempted assault of a public safety officer and interfering with a peace officer, and the outlet reported.

The attack on Kelly, it happened on the same day that a group of assailants attacked the conservative author Andy Ngo, dousing him with the liquid, and pelting him with objects, such attacks will also be caught on video.

The Ngo claimed that he was later admitted to the hospital with a brain hemorrhage, and said that no suspects have yet been charged in connection with the attacks against him.
Violent clashes between Antifa supporters, and members of conservative groups was a problem for the city, including the mayor, Ted Wheeler, has faced harsh criticism for the city’s response to these events. President’s Home, and some of the Republicans in Congress are calling for Antifa to be declared a domestic terrorist organization.
