Another hearing is set to begin in Penn State frat death case

BELLEFONTE, Pa. – Former members of a Penn State fraternity by the court for a preliminary hearing on the costs associated with the February 2017 death from a building after a night of hazing and drinking.

The hearing Tuesday for a district judge will determine whether there is sufficient evidence to send against a number of defendants in the case to the county court. It can take several days to complete.

It will be the third preliminary hearing of the suspects, and the fourth in general, where the death of the 19-year-old Tim Piazza, of Lebanon, New Jersey.

Piazza died of severe head and abdominal injuries after a bid acceptance ceremony in the Beta Theta Pi house. The authorities say that he consumed a dangerous amount of alcohol.
