Law enforcement is a problem with identifying the suspect because he mutilated fingers, Fox News has learned. However, it is unclear whether they were self-disfigured, the result of injury during the shooting or were long-term injuries.

A U.S. government official told The Associated Press that the suspect was identified with the use of facial recognition technology.
