Anderson and Wright to the semi-finals at world CHAMPIONSHIP of darts

Gary Anderson and Peter Wright have joined Friday in London’s Alexandra Palace, placed for the semi-finals of the world cup of darts. Defending champion Anderson beat Dave Chisnall with 5-3 and Wright continued with the same figures James Wade aside.

Anderson and Wright, both 46 years old, are in the final four against each other.

It is the third time in a row that Anderson in the semi final battle of the world cup. He won the previous two editions.

Friday night, the quarter-finals of the two players planned. Michael van Gerwen takes on the Northern Irishman Daryl Gurney and Raymond van Barneveld should see to deal with hexadecimal world champion Phil Taylor.

Chisnall made the Anderson quite difficult. The 36-year-old Englishman is stronger from a 2-0 deficit in sets, back to 3-3 and took in the seventh set, even a 2-0 lead in legs.

Anderson was on time at the lesson and won the next three legs. He decided the match by the eighth set 3-1 to pull.

Chisnall threw a whopping 21 times 180. Thus was he to the record number of 180 people in one match, that Van Barneveld in the final of the world cup of 2007 against Taylor threw.

Wright joins for the first time since 2014 in the last four. At the time, came he even to the finals, where he lost to Van Gerwen. Over the past two years flew Wright in the quarter-finals.

In his quarter-final against Wade had to Wright a bowl. The 33-year-old Wade was even with 2-1 in sets after a finish of 155. The next three sets were a prey for the third-placed Wright.

The Englishman picked up the seventh set, but the eighth won Wright with 3-1 so the match itself was. He gave his victory shine through, to end up with a finish of 134.
