Phillip Cocu belongs to the candidates for the position of head coach at Anderlecht, as confirmed by director Michael Verschueren Belgian football club Friday.
“Cocu is indeed on our list, that we are not under the chairs or sofas of stitches, but to date we have no agreement with him,” says Verschueren at VTM News.
Last week, trainer Hein Vanhaezebrouck fired at the club from Brussels because of disappointing results.
Anderlecht stated on Thursday Frank Arnesen as technical director. The Dane will be involved in finding a new trainer.
Arnesen, who will leave if of the supervisory board of PSV, previously worked together with Cocu at the Eindhoven club. The Dane was between 1994 and 2004, technical director at PSV.
Cocu was two months ago due to disappointing results, fired by the Turkish football club Fenerbahçe. He was previously five seasons as coach of PSV.

Anderlecht was already almost around with a different candidate, but that said, at the last moment. According to the Belgian newspaper het Nieuwsblad that went to Frank de Boer.
“We were almost round with a top coach, but due to circumstances that deal jumped. Now we look,” says Verschueren.
Kasper Hjulmand is in Belgian media also mentioned as a possible successor of Vanhaezebrouck at Anderlecht. The 46-year-old Dane is now training at Nordsjaelland.
