Convict Hayden Davis was convicted and sentenced to 30 months in prison for assaulting a sheriff’s deputy in the Washington County Jail.
An Oregon man was sentenced to more than six years in captivity on Wednesday after being convicted for breaking into a house, and a few weeks later, the attack of a prison guard in an attack that was captured on surveillance video.
The Washington County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release that Hayden Landry, Davis, 27, was sentenced to 74 months in prison and two years of post-prison supervision, in connection with the incident earlier in the year.
Authorities said the 27-year-old used a hammer to hit a progressive on a glass door and breaking into a house in the Area on Oct. 20, 2019 to, but was scared off by the resident to enter. The defendant initially denied the allegations but later admitted to breaking into the house. He was arrested and taken to the Washington County Jail. Almost a month later, on March 31, Davis attacked the deputy from behind, during the leisure period of time, striking him several times in the face.
The “no indicators, no nothing,” the Corrections Officer Daniel Guzman told FOX12 on Wednesday. “He just turned to me and started punching.”

Guzman said that there is not in all the way, he and Davis had never had before.
“I don’t think that I have learned of her name, up to 40 minutes after the incident occurred,” Guzman told FOX12.

Officials said the deputy suffered minor injuries during the fight at Davis, with the help of the other prisoners.
“The swelling is on the upper left-hand view,” Guzman told FOX12. “I have had a number of cuts on the face and a few scratches on the left side of my face.”

Davis pleaded guilty on Tuesday to assaulting a public safety officer, officials said in a news release. Days later, a Washington County jury found him guilty of first-degree attempted burglary and second-degree criminal mischief.
In addition to his prison term, the judge recommended that Davis’s commitment to the mental health and substance abuse programs while serving his sentence, and imposed a 500-dollar fine. Davis was convicted and sentenced by the court to pay $571 in restitution to his victims, and barred him and any contact with them.
