Amsterdam mentions bridges to Rita Reys and Piet Bakker
Rita Reys receives a bridge in Amsterdam. The in 2013 death jazz singer is one of the nine celebrities that bridge the gap to get into the capital, reports The Parool.
The Rita Reysbrug is located in Nieuw Sloten, at the Chet Bakerstraat and the Duke Ellingtonstraat. Because of Rita’s state of service depart Amsterdam on the rule that only five years to her death something to her should be named.
Also jazzpianiste Pia Beck, zeilster Conny van Rietschoten, the philosopher Karl Popper, writer Piet Bakker (Ciske the Rat) and singer Bessie Smith will be honored.
