American nuclear power plants targeted by hackers
Hackers have in the past two months tried to nuclear power plants in the United States to attack.
This is evident from a report in the hands of The New York Times, from the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security. Both agencies say in a statement that there is no evidence of a serious threat.
The hackers would, among other things, the Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation have attacked. This company is responsible for a nuclear power plant in the U.s. state of Kansas. In addition, unnamed plants, power plants and factories are targets.
According to the report, would the hackers have tried to make the computer systems of the targets.
A spokesman for Wolf Creek stresses that hackers are not entered in the control system of the nuclear power plant. This system is not connected to the internet. The hackers would, for a successful attack only access, for example accounting systems.
