American doctor examines the terminally ill British baby
The American neurologist Michio Hirano will be next week, the very ill British boy Charlie Gard investigations. That has news agency PA Friday, reported with a reference to a hearing in the London court.
On appeal, the court must determine whether new expertise suspending justify the earlier opinion that it is medically inadvisable for the eleven-month-old baby in to keep it alive. According to Sky News, is that judgment of 25 July.
Hirano, a professor at the Columbia University in New York, is on Monday expected in the Great Ormond Street Hospital, where Charlie is. He estimated earlier, the chance that the child will benefit from an experimental therapy to 10 percent.
The doctors that the baby have hitherto treated, do not believe that he can still be helped because he already had irreversible brain damage has occurred. They gave him a dignified death.
The parents of Charlie, who by a rare genetic abnormality nothing independently and, presumably, pain, decided, however, to make every effort to enable their son also the thinnest straw to offer. They collected more than a million euro in treatment in the US.
