American actor Harry Dean Stanton (91) died

The very productive American actor Harry Dean Stanton is Friday died of natural causes in a hospital in Los Angeles. He was 91 years old, as reported in the local media.


Stantons was born in 1926 and his career spans more than 60 years old and more than 100 films, and 50 tv episodes. He played among the more roles in “Cool Hand Luke” (1967), “The Godfather, II” (1974), “Alien” (1979), “Repo Man” (1984), “Paris, Texas” (1984) and “The Green Mile” (1999).

This year, he was still to be seen in the series “Twin Peaks” and later this month, the drama “Lucky” with Stanton in the lead role.

Director David Lynch, the man behind Twin Peaks, described Stanton as ” a Popular and more than a great actor. There is no one like Harry Dean. Everyone loved him. It was a pleasure to work with him,” said Lynch in a response to the death against trade magazine Variety.

Stantons first role on the big screen was in the little meaningful movie Tomahawk Trail (1957), but he was rapidly noticed and appeared in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s regularly in small roles as a cowboy or soldier.
