Amazon sued for discrimination a transgender woman and partner
Amazon has been sued by two former employees. The couple, a transgender woman and her husband, accusing the company of discrimination.
The Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund (TLDEF) tightens the case on behalf of the couple, writes the organization in a blog post.
Allegra Schawe Lane made at Amazon known that she is a transgender. To say she was from that moment on “discrimination and harassment by employees, supervisors and managers at Amazon”.
So they would intentionally be referred to with “the”, “shemale” and “woman with a penis”, with “the goal to get her to humiliate”. Also would Schawe Lane have become the victims of sexual harassment, threats and physical violence.
Her partner, Dane Lane, was in his turn the victim of sexual harassment, derogatory comments by employees, and a hostile environment, states the indictment. One of the employees of Lane would give him, for example, in a sexual way, touched and him pornography and sex toys have offered. “When the couple submitted a complaint, told them that they no written complaints were allowed to submit,” writes the TLDEF.
Amazon has, as yet, not on the prosecution responded.
