Actress Amandla Stenberg reveals she is gay in a new interview with Wonderland Magazine.
“Hunger Games” star Amandla Stenberg’s “real” about her sexuality in a recent interview with the confirmation that she is a lesbian.
“Yep, I’m gay,” Stenberg told Wonderland Magazine in a recent interview.
The 19-year-old actress gave fans a taste of the interview, which was published on Monday, in an Instagram post over the weekend, adding that she was “so happy to say that the words” in the print. Stenberg thanked the interviewer, King, Princess, artist, pop art artist Mikaela Straus, for giving her a “safe space” to come.
“An interview for @wonderland by someone who I stan infinite is the fiercest garbagio pop queen @kingprincess69,” Stenberg wrote. “We talk about gay sobs, the first encounters with lesbian masturbation, queer icons, Toni Morrison, disillusionment as a crucial step, the art I’ve been working on, and the films I have coming out this year.”

The post, which has garnered nearly 210,000 likes as of Monday afternoon, including several photos of Stenberg donning colourful outfits. Dozens of fans answered Stenberg’s big reveal, sending her messages of support.
“Super proud!” one Instagram user replied.
“If you’re happy then everyone is happy,” the other added.
“There is so much love you. Such a beautiful individual,” a fan wrote.
Stenberg said that she was born gay, in which it is made clear that her “sexuality is not a by-product of my past experiences with men that I have loved.”
The star admitted she was on an emotional roller coaster as they make the realization.

“One could assume that they were sad tears, but, in fact, exactly the opposite in my experience. They were happy and overwhelmed sobs,” she told Wonderland. “I was overwhelmed with a feeling of tranquility and peace, because everything that I struggled with or felt discomfort around the finally make sense to me, and as soon as these locks are opened and the years of pent up pain and shame were released, I found the freedom to live my best life waiting for me just below.”
Stenberg is the lead role in Fox 2000’s upcoming drama “The Hate You Give,” a movie based on an award-winning novel written by Angie Thomas. It is set to be released on 19 October.
