The Canadian company Media Sonar, that software sells for police services, social media monitoring, will no longer be able to access data from Facebook.
That has a spokesperson for the social network told Motherboard. Twitter had blocked the access of Media Sonar already in October.
Research from the American burgerrechtenorganisatie ACLU sold Media Sonar software to police forces in California and they were motivated to hashtags like #BlackLivesMatter to keep an eye on. That are used by citizens who wanted to protest against police brutality.
The Facebook spokesperson says that Media Sonar the terms and conditions of the social network has infringed, though it is not specified in any way. Also dochterdienst Instagram has the access of Media Sonar is blocked.
