Alcohol-free beer becoming more and more popular
More and more people are drinking non-alcoholic beer. The consumption of the beer is in a year’s time with an 18 percent increase.
According to the association of Dutch Brewers drunk Dutch people in the past year, some 394.000 hectolitres of non-alcoholic beer.
“We see a spacious trebling of the consumption of non-alcoholic beer in the past 6 years. The choice on the shelf, it is in this time of stormy increased. Many consumers are embracing this non-alcoholic alternative”, according to Cees-Jan Adema, director of Dutch Brewers.
According to Adema is next to non-alcoholic beer more and more beer brewed and sold with a lower alcohol content. “An example is the ‘session ale’ with an alcohol content between 2.5 percent and 4.5 percent, increasingly is consumed.”
