An Alabama sheriff says, “evil was responsible” to charge a woman with the murder of her two young sons.
Deputies found the children, a 3-year-old boy and his 9-year-old brother to death at a home in the Baileyton, Saturday afternoon.
Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry said the children’s mother, was arrested a short time later and charged with the murder of their death.
“We don’t know what the cause of this tragic accident, but from what I can tell you, it is evil is involved,” Gentry said, according to the Cullman Tribune.

“If a person would do this to a child, there is only one word, and that is bad,” he said.
The wife, and the two of them had not been identified, the paper reported.
Gentry said deputies were dispatched to the home in response to a 911 call without the caller id.

“We have two small children who have died,” he said.
Gentry said deputies secured the perimeter and began a search of the property, and the use of K-9s.
“Within a few hundred yards from the house, if you are looking for the suspect, and that it was to be the mother of the children,” he said, according to the paper. “We have arrested her mother and she was flown to a hospital.”

Gentry said deputies were interviewing the other family members as part of the investigation, according to the paper.
