An Alabama Congressman on Wednesday, the first prominent Republican has entered the race to challenge Democratic Sen. Doug Jones, one of the most vulnerable incumbent up for re-election in 2020.
U.S. REP Bradley Byrne announced his intention to run for the place that was once the former US attorney General, Jeff Sessions, vowed to be a senator “who will fight with President Trump.”

“Doug Jones is said for gun control,” Byrne said. “Doug Jones is for abortion. Doug Jones is up against the wall. Doug Jones Kavanaugh against judges. Doug Jones is against Donald Trump. I would say, each and every one of these disqualifications is the end.”

Jones’ campaign in a statement Wednesday, Byrne called a “career politician.”
“It doesn’t matter whether Senator Jones has 1 enemy or 100.
