Authorities say the 16-year-old boy ran from police and jumped an airport fence Thursday after they tried to pull him over in a stolen car. Authorities searched for the teen’s at night.
An airplane mechanic inspection of a plane Friday saw the teenager in the regional jet wheel.
Salt Lake City international Airport spokeswoman Nancy Volmer says the teenager was found at a maintenance hangar to the northwest of the main terminal of the airport and taken into custody.
Authorities in Salt Lake City International Airport reportedly searched for the teen on Thursday, but he found the next day “in or around” the wheel well of a jet parked in a hangar.

A second 16-year-old, who had been riding in the stolen car is being held in the juvenile detention.
