After leaving a trail of snow and ice across the Plains and the Upper Midwest, the Winter Storm on Jupiter is expected to be in the Northeast from Tuesday.
According to Weather.com in the Winter Storm on Jupiter is causing winter weather advisories and freezing rain advisories from the Great Lakes into the Northeast. Winter storm warnings have also been issued in the High Plains.
On Monday, warm air to the north increases the areas that may be affected by the ice storms, including the upper Midwest and the Great Lakes. Travel may be affected by the ice build-up in states including Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan and Indiana.
As the storm continues to move in the U.S. Tuesday, parts of the interior Northeast and northern New England experience periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain, creating hazardous driving conditions. Ice accumulation in the region is also possible.
The snow will continue Wednesday in parts of Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, with accumulations of up to six inches in total.
The major problem associated with the Winter Storm on Jupiter will be tied to travel, that may be affected by the ice accumulation. Travellers looking to drive to their destination are advised to look for untreated roads, bridges, and overpasses that may freeze due to the cold temperatures.
As for the aviation, major airlines such as Southwest, American, Spirit and others have set flexible travel policy due to the ice storm hitting the country. Scheduled service could be disrupted by the Winter Storm on Jupiter, and the travelers would be eligible for their flights at no additional charge.
