Again earthquake in the Turkish city of Bodrum
The area of the Turkish city of Bodrum is Tuesday morning again rocked by an earthquake. The quake had a strength of 5.3 on the Richter scale.
The epicenter of the earthquake was about fifteen miles southeast of Bodrum, at a depth of about ten kilometers, reports the U.s. Geological survey.
About victims and damages is still not known.
Experts speaking Tuesday from an aftershock of the quake that the region on 21 July hit. “We had expected”, said seismoloog Gerasimos Houliaras for the Greek radio.
Bodrum is a popular holiday resort, where during the summer months many Turks and foreigners go on vacation.
On the 21st of July was the south-west coast of Turkey hit by a very heavy earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7. On the nearby Greek island of Kos fell, therefore, at least two dead. 120 people were injured. In June fell on the Greek island of Lesvos a dead by an earthquake with a strength of 6.3.
