Attorney General William Barr on Thursday a decline in violent crime in the United States noted that it is not limited to, crime reduction ” -strategy, project Safe neighborhoods.”
Project Safe neighborhoods (PSN) is an evidence-based program that was expanded two years ago and was recognized by the violent crimes, the Ministry of justice proved in the reduction said on Thursday, show the latest figures provided by the FBI.
According to the FBI-2018 crime in the United States report released this week, the estimated number of violent crimes in the country declined from 3.3 per cent from the number recorded in the year 2017, and in 2018, the violent crime rate fell 3.9 percent compared to the previous year. The Department noted that it was the second year in a row of declines.

According to the FBI report, in almost every category of violent crime took place between 2017 and 2018, with the exception for rape offences increased by 2.7 percent.
“The revived project Safe neighborhoods program is a great success,” Barr said on Thursday. “It packs a powerful punch thanks to the combination of extended data with a local guide, the further reduction of violence in communities across the country and the improvement of overall public safety.”

He added: “the US prosecutors continue to focus their efforts on the enforcement against the perpetrators of violence and work in partnership with state, local, and tribal police. The Ministry of justice, relations on the board have never been stronger.”
