Attorney General Bill Barr, in an interview Wednesday with Fox News, warned that the charges could be “played down” the Democrats’ efforts to remove the President Trump, while also firing back at ex-FBI Director James Comey, the response to the justice Department inspector general report on the Russia-investigation.
Barr sat down with Martha MacCallum to as the house of representatives fought with two of the indictment, before an expected floor vote. This is similar to what Barr said in an ABC News interview after the report release.
“These irregularities, these errors, these omissions were not explained satisfactorily, and I think that leaves open the possibility to infer bad faith,” he said.
But Comey called this “an irresponsible statement,” she told Fox News’ Chris Wallace to speculate that Barr “has no factual basis, as the attorney General of the United States, that agent has acted in a fraudulent manner.”

Barr said that he is not the situation the same way as the former FBI Director.
“One of the things I object to is the turn taken by Comey to recommend to the is, that the people you criticize, or try to, on the underside of the misconduct attack on the FBI somehow. I think that nonsense is” Barr said. “We are critical of, and concerned about the misconduct by a few players, which is criticized to be at the top of the FBI, and you, if you are a serious misconduct.”
