Sheldon Adelson, the Las Vegas billionaire and GOP mega-donor, has reportedly broken ties with Stephen Bannon about President Trump, the former chief strategist of the campaign challenging Republican incumbent in 2018.
To displace Bannon obliged, Senate majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., from his leadership role while Adelson, the “support Mitch McConnell 100 percent,” Andy Abboud, a spokesman for Adelson, said Politico.
The report comes as Bannon was help, the donors, to topple his efforts, members of the party, he is a part of the “Republican establishment.”
Last month, Bannon Fox’s Sean Hannity said that “no one is safe.”
Bannon aides told Politico that they are not surprised by Adelson’s decision, because Adelson’s history of support of mainstream Republicans, rather than outsiders.
BANNERT praised Adelson on Sunday night at the Adelson-funded Zionist Organization of America, the annual dinner.
But Adelson and his wife Miriam, did not attend the event. A person close to the couple told Politico that Adelson attend the event because he feared an appearance with Bannon could be perceived as an endorsement of its 2018 effort.
