Actor and playwright Sam Shepard died at the age of 73.

The American died Thursday in the presence of his family in his home in the state of Kentucky. He was suffering from the nerve disease als and died according to his family complications.
Shepard is seen as an important and influential actor and playwright. He showed in his work, among other things, the ‘dark’ side of the American family life, such as in the play Buried Child. To do this, he won in 1979, a Pulitzer-prize in the category drama. Also, True West and Fool for Love got Pulitzer nominations.
As an actor, was Shepard was nominated for an Oscar for his role in the movie The Right Stuff (1983). He played in dozens of other films such as Black Hawk Down and Swordfish.
Shepard had a role in the Netflix series Bloodline. There he played Robert Rayburn. He was also featured in the film Never Lord, who is most recently the film Festival in Los Angeles opened.
The actor leaves three children behind.
