Acting minister of Justice USA defends Trumps category is not
Acting American minister of Justice Sally Yates has her officials ordered the temporary re-entry ban of president Donald Trump, not to defend himself before the court.
The bewindsvrouw doubts as to the legal underpinning of the presidential decree, The New York Times.
Yates writes in a letter to the lawyers of the ministry that it is the duty of the department is to always fight for justice. “At this moment I am not convinced that the defence of the decree in line with responsibilities, nor am I convinced that the decree is lawful,” said the minister.
The resistance of Yates, who was part of the government of Barack Obama, according to the newspaper largely symbolic. She is the only minister until her replacement Jeff Sessions is approved. That happens to be expected already in the short term.
