Denim is a very pollutant material and the fashion industry is one of the vervuilendste sector on earth. A pity, because jeans is indispensable in our wardrobe. Acquisition Tom Duhoux saves us from the need and pushes the sustainable denim label HRVST out of the ground.
The clothing production, over the past fifteen years has doubled, and clothing is more than ever – unworn even thrown in the rubbish bin. Quite a shame, because cotton cultivation is extremely labour-intensive and pollutes millions of gallons of water. In addition, clothes recycled , which is much more durable than new fibers produce.
With this knowledge in mind, founded Antwerper, Tom Duhoux his denim label HRVST. His goal? the most durable jeans in the world to develop. The HRVST jeans is the first ever made of 50% recycled denim.
What’s so innovative about this denimmerk is the high percentage of recycled material. HRVST is therefore a truly circular fashion on the basis of recycled denim new jeansproducten. Together with some of the sustainable partners founder Tom Duhoux managed to make a yarn of 50% old jeans, complemented with Tencel©, a by-product of wood processing.
In addition, the yarn in Flanders . And also the items are not in the third world is produced, but only made in Europe. Each piece of the garments – from button over dye to label was conceived according to the principles of the circular economy.
The first HRVST collection will consist of 3 jeansbroeken and a tough salopette for women, just as 3 jeansbroeken and a jeansvest for men. Each piece is designed by designer Ellen Robinson.
of 16 t/m 30 september there is a fundraising campaign planned. You can be old jeans of introduction, which then will be recycled.
