“A universal flu vaccine may protect against 88 percent of viruses’
A new flu vaccine may protect against 88 percent of the viruses worldwide and 95 percent of the viruses in the United States, by means of a single injection.
This is evident from a study of the University of Lancaster and Aston University that has been published in Bioinformatics. It is advised to have this vaccination as early as possible and before the ‘flu season’.
Researcher Derek Gatherer of the University of Lancaster: “We know that this method is safe and that the most of the time it works.”
This new vaccine is designed for large flu epidemics. The World Health Organisation states that each year half a million people die from the effects of flu. It asked the Official for National Statistics in april 2016 that there 16.415 more people in 2015 than in 2014 died from the effects of flu.
