In an extremely rare moment in the nature, not just one, but two of the white giraffes were captured on film in the open air
Kenya is the only white female giraffe and her calf were killed by poachers, officials confirmed Tuesday.
In a statement, the Ishaqbini Hirola Community Conservancy, says that the woman’s death has been confirmed by the local people, and the powers of the Ijara, in the East of the country.

The ranger had a condition called leucism, which results in a loss of pigmentation.

According to the images created by the community, a giraffe had a skeleton to have been killed by armed poachers,” the Conservancy said. The female and her calf were part of a family of white giraffes. Right now, only a white bull, a giraffe will remain.
“This is a very sad day for the community of the Ijara to the program as a whole,” said Mohammed Ahmednoor, the manager of the Water board, in a statement. “It has been a long-term loss of the genetics studies, and studies that have been large-scale investment in the area by the community, and now it is gone to the drain. Further to this, the white giraffe, it was a great boost to the tourism industry in the region.”

The white ranger was a bit of a sensation when they were caught on video for the first time in 2017.
