A Pennsylvania couple who allegedly set up a GoFundMe page asking for donations in the wake of their new-born son’s death, now stands accused by the police, and in order to do so, as if in the child’s life, as a part of a scam to collect money and gifts from their family, friends, and members of the community.

Geoffrey and Kaycee Lang, of Friedens, was hit with felony theft charges in Westmoreland and Somerset counties this week, when the police searched the house and found a doll that looked like that of a child, to look at the pictures of the couple tells of their son, Easton, WTAE reported, citing court documents.

“I don’t know what’s their motive was to harm your family and others? It’s just sick,” She Dilascio, a friend organised a baby shower for the couple in May, and later reported to the police, he told the station.

The photos I had of the opening of the gifts at the shower, but Dilascio said Kaycee, 23, disappeared at around seven months into the pregnancy, that she was on bed rest.

Court documents seen by WTAE’s say the couple are then alleged Easton, died on July 3 of respiratory distress syndrome shortly after birth at Conemaugh Health System in Johnstown, but the police said they couldn’t find any records of either mother or child is in that facility, or coroner’s office.

Dilascio said she called the funeral home, where the couple claimed that the child was cremated – only to be told there was no account in the family name.

“I just couldn’t go on. I know that it was a fake,” she told WTAE, when asked about the memorial service, which seems to have been taken to Easton. “I can’t sit down and have a look at how this is going, and to know the truth.”

An obituary was published in the Easton name, the due date of the child weighed in at 7 lbs. 2 oz and is 17 inches in length.

“Easton’ s parents were blessed to have just a little more than 5 hours before he went to his heavenly home at 8:20 am,” it read. “Easton has an experienced hand in hand, hugs and kisses with mom and dad, and been told a countless number of” I love yous.'”
