A North Carolina man is accused of setting a homeless man on fire over the weekend, critically injuring him, was arrested Wednesday, officials said.

Robert Charles Austin, 66, of Asheville, was taken into custody just before 2 a.m., He will be faced with an attempted first-degree murder charges, the Asheville Police Department posted on Facebook.

The researchers said, Austin is on fire, the 58-year-old homeless man on Sunday in the vicinity of a business in a popular tourist area in Asheville.

The man suffered severe burns and was in critical condition in the hospital.

It was not clear whether it’s Austin, and the man knew each other.

The researchers said that it looked like he was being doused with an accelerant and then set on fire.

The police are asking for help in finding a potential witness to the assault. They were driving a white GMC Sierra pick-up truck and a silver Jeep Liberty SUV.

Neither was considered a suspect, according to police.
