A New Jersey woman who was to be fatal to her identical twin sister during a drunken fight was sentenced to six years in prison.
Amanda Ramirez, 27, wept as she was given the news in the Camden County Superior Court on Thursday, issuing a tearful apology, the judge handed down the sentence-after the death of Anna Ramirez, on the 22nd of June, 2019 at the latest.
“I know there’s nothing I can say to justify what I did,” he told Her NJ.com. “I just want to make it clear that I never had the intention of taking my sister’s life. If I was, what I was doing, I would be in a blink of an eye.”

“It will have to live with the fact that she is no longer alive, it is devastating,” she added. “I would like to apologize to my family, to put them through this. I hope they can forgive me.”
Her attorney, Jordan Zietz, said the killing was a product of his client to a post-partum depression, which spiraled out of control after her pregnancy.

“She’s going to have to remember it for the rest of her life. In the sense that you’re going to impose it, it will pale in comparison to the life sentence, and she was all,” Zietz, told Judge Edward McBride, according to the outlet. “All we ask is that you keep track of what the family wants — to get her back to them, so that they are able to heal more quickly.”
She reportedly fell off her twins at the Centennial Village Apartment on East State Street at 5:38 pm on June 22 after a night of drinking, according to the prosecutor’s office.
The police department received a call about an unconscious woman, and went to find the victim on the ground. She was rushed to Cooper University Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 6:19 pm
She told the police that she stabbed her while she is in the fight, had a knife to her twins, brought up in the kitchen, but the judge said an eyewitness contradicted the statement, according to the NJ.com.

The witness reportedly heard Her tell her sister, “pay attention to what I’m going to do it,” and she saw that Anna’s blood and heard her say, “‘Amanda, you’re stuck with me!'”
In September, Ramirez pleaded guilty to the stabbing of Anna’s death, which will result in a reduced charge of second-degree murder — thanks to a plea deal.
