After twenty years of decisions An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx in order to put an end to their prêt-à-porterlijn. The duo wants more creative freedom and less constraints during the design.
A birthday is often a good time to look back on all that has been, and that was also for A. F. Vandevorst when the label twenty years passed away. In a press release, said the brand now her prêt-à-porterlijn behind them and only have to focus on haute couture.
“In the future, we want to concentrate on what we do best and love to do: designing shoes with unrestrained designs,’ explains the duo behind the A. F. Vandevorst the choice in a press release. From now on, the mark will, therefore, focus on footwear with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship and the craft, and capsulecollecties.
Rock ‘n’ roll
A. F. Vandevorst has been in existence since 1998, but was actually the seed of this successful designer brand already planted as the two got to know each other on the first day of school at the Academy in Antwerp in 1987. After she graduated in 1993, they went to work for Dries Van Noten (she) and as a stylist (he). In 1997 they started their own label, the first collection presented in march 1998 in Paris. In their fashion universe they strive for a balance between rock’n’ roll and couture, not rarely with an artistic, erotic or adult slant.
The next collection will be next January will be shown to the general public during the Haute Couture Week in Paris.
