A North Carolina Democrat, resigned from the Senate this week, on the same day it announced that it was the accession of the state parole board — in the case of a salary increase of more than $100,000.

The Senate recognized Sen. Angela Bryant letter of resignation on Monday, the same day, democratic Gov. Roy Cooper announced that he was appointing Bryant to the state Post-Release supervision & Parole Commission.

State the law specifies, Bryant Executive salary in the $116,595 annually, some eight times more in comparison to their legislative salary to nearly $14,000 people, the Raleigh News & Observer reported.

Bryant said last month that she would not win re-election this fall, citing a redrawn Senate map makes your district more difficult.

Cooper cited Bryant’s “strong track record of diligent, attentive service to our state,” as the reasoj add behind the visit, “I know that in her new role on the Parole Board,” the News & Observer reported.

Bryant, a lawyer and a former North Carolina Industrial Commission Deputy Commissioner who had served in the legislature since 2007.

To serve “thank you for the opportunity, the state in this great institution with many great colleagues over my eleven years,” Bryant wrote in her resignation letter, the newspaper said. “I am also very grateful for the components, the first house district 7, and then later the Senate, district 4, to serve for the election myself, in the legislation for six terms.”

Bryant is a former member of the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on justice and Public safety, the Rocky Mount telegram reported. During her tenure, she was to ask the offenders (re-entry and more convenient expunction laws and processes, the report said.

The parole Commission’s four members, appointed by Cooper, the conditions under which felons completing their sentences be released, or will be, paroled, under the old sentencing rules.

The independent Agency is not formal hearings or meetings with offenders hold to check the cases, according to the News & Observer.

Since taking office in January 2017, Cooper was confronted with the control of some hefty salary increases secretaries to his Cabinet. In fact, as in the last month, every one of his members of the Cabinet attracts a higher salary as a Cooper s $144,349 per year.

The Governor justified the increases by noting that his Cabinet was the most diverse in the history of the state, and the average member of Cabinet, had 22 years of experience.
