Fox News: Was it an instant connection?
Big Ed: It was. Not at first, because I have had messages from her, but she was never, you know, to really respond to it. I would like to have a few of her photos. But, for a time, you know, we had our very first Facetime for mac, you name it, you know, just kind of took off.
Fox News: You have a 31-year-old, the age gap is. What do you say to the nay-sayers out there?
Big Ed: Well, my biggest naysayer has been my daughter, Tiffany and my mom, of course. But it’s a conversation that I had with Rose just on the day that we will face in the first day, we Facetimed. Do you know, ” I said to her, “Look, you know what, I’m, you know, I’m 54, and you’re 23.’
Big Ed’s has been around for almost three decades.
TLC’S ’90 DAY FIANCE’ ON STARS ARE GOOD, REGRETS TOPLESS PHOTO SHOOT
You know, like, “are you worried about the age difference?” And they said, “no, No, age is just a number and it’s how you feel about that person.” And in that moment, I had never thought about it again. It’s just never been an issue. It was more of an experience and the feelings and emotions that we do, and we have begun the process of developing for each other.
Fox News: Your one and only daughter do not approve of your relationship. How easy or difficult is it for you?
Big Ed: Oh, Oh, oh, my God. The hardest thing through this whole process, it was to the effect that this has had on my daughter. My daughter is six years older than Rosemarie. And so, she took it really hard.
We stopped to talk. I didn’t want to talk to her, you know, the four-week period. However, I was able to get in again at the airport before I left for the Philippines. So, it was a wonderful, wonderful surprise.
90 DAY FIANCE STAR’S EMILY, SASHA HOPES TO PREVENT HER FROM BECOMING THE EX-WIFE DID NOT. 3
Big Ed and his dog, Teddy.
Fox News: do you think your daughter will ever come around?
Big Ed: Yes. So, Tiffany and I had a good chat when I got back. And, you know, we have both agreed on. So, you know, [that] it is not a good idea to check the date of a person who is young. But they are, and they want me to be happy. So We’re in a pretty good place to be.
Fox News, You had stopped two of the things Rosemarie, your height and don’t want to have children, can you please explain your thinking behind that decision?
Big Ed: Oh, absolutely. So that’s what I did. I wasn’t completely honest with you, the Rose, the fact that she said that she wanted to be with another girl. And no, I didn’t recognize the request. I just kind of smiled. So, I knew in my heart that she did it to another girl. But, for me, at 54, I am happy to take care of the king’s son, and her 4-year-old son.
But as far as having more kids, and I wasn’t ready to do that. So that’s what I did. I love the Rose, but as far as my size, I told her that I was 5’2″ and if I’m really 4’11”, but we’ll Facetime during the course of the last three, over the past three months, as you know, I was kind of shocked when I finally found it, in the Philippines, and she was kind of taken back by my body shape and size. So, for me, it was kind of a gut punch. I was taken aback a little bit.
90 DAY FIANCE STAR, RUSS, AND GOOD TO BRUSH OFF THE HATERS: YOU HAVE TO BE TRUE TO YOURSELF
Big Ed and Rosemarie met through social media.
Fox News: What was it like meeting Rosemarie, for the first time?
Big Ed: Oh, Oh, oh, my God. It was surreal. I mean, if anyone can imagine it to be, you know, FaceTimeing with someone, you know, months and months and then have to get on a plane and flying 7000 miles away and meet her for the first time. The anticipation, the excitement, and the fear is all around, it was just, it was such a trip. It was a complete trip.
Fox News: What is the current status of your relationship with Rosemarie today?
Big Ed: all I can tell you, as far as what Rose and I have been to, I went to the Philippines and I met her family. There is a huge language barrier, since none of them speak English, although she was. So she was a little bit of my interpretation.
But Rose lives in a poor community. There was no indoor plumbing, and I’m a germaphobe, and I have to sleep with the air conditioning on because I, you know, I just kind of sleep during the night as it is called. So, it’s nice and warm. It was made with water. It was the rainy season. There were more mistakes. I mean, it was a great experience, full of adventure, full of drama, excitement and beauty.
90 DAY FIANCE: ITS THE OTHER WAY’ STAR TIFFANY, SAYING THAT SHE IS “NOT ASHAMED” OF HER RELATIONSHIP WITH RONALD
The Philippines is a beautiful country and the women are absolutely stunning.
Fox News: What do you hope viewers will take away when they watch your story unfold in front of the cameras?
Big Ed: When the show first came out, I had a flashback to my high school years. I have a syndrome referred to as KFS. With the Klippel Feil syndrome, where you are born with a shorter neck, with limited range of motion, but also with a larger chest cavity. And I was always picked on in high school, I was called everything from, you know, not neck-Ed neck-less. I mean, that’s just, as you can imagine.
So I was bullied during my high school years. Thus, in the first instance, on the first day that the show first started to air, I’ve got a lot of teasing, just so you know, you name it. You know, like, “I can’t wait to see the back of this season.” And, “Where is the man in the neck?” And then they have to take a picture of me and do fun things. And I’m going to begin to understand why my daughter and my ex-wife was so against me doing this because she knew that I was opening myself up as a target. I’ve always been a Big No. I mean, I’ve always been short, but I’ve always loved my shape, as a positive thing. I have never allowed my physical condition, KFS, in order to define who I am.
Big Ed called the meeting to Rosemarie for the first time “surreal.”
90 DAY FIANCE STAR, TIM, BUT WHY ARE THEY DATED BY PEOPLE OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
There has been a number of exciting things that have happened because of that. When I was waiting tables, and this is what I came up with the term “Big Ed, I just wanted people to know who I am as a waiter, and they would come and ask for Big Ed, and I’m 4’11” and so it became a little funny. Many years later, I ended up in architecture and design, and that’s what I’m doing now, and people will recognize me as the Big Ed, and I can get all of the large-scale projects. So, in the end, it turned out to be a really good thing.
However, as far as online bullying, is when the show first aired, it was very difficult for me. Very, very, very, very hard. But then I started to get letters from people all over the world telling me that they are of the same form of the disease. And they were just acknowledging my courage to be open. I mean, I’m on national TV to put mayonnaise in my hair. I am in a tutu, because I lost a bet at work. I don’t have to have my all of my sales quota and I was doing really well. I’ve got one million fifty-one thousand, but I have been promised a 1.5-million.
So, I’m a man of my word, and I’m not afraid to poke fun at myself as well, but they are in their lives, being bullied, and one of the people who wrote to me, and, you know, to even consider, you know, to take his own life. And he’s, you know, it was very difficult. You know, I’m a little bit angry, because it brings back memories of what I had to go through.

But I basically told them, you know, “don’t let this define you, and don’t be afraid to be yourself.” And it’s just, it really warmed my heart, because I didn’t expect it with this show. I had a person on social media who falls in love with a girl, and bought a ticket, and is to be placed. And the next thing you know, I’m on my way to the Philippines.
So, I didn’t do this because of the show. At this point in your life. So, in the end, it’s turning out to be something good, because I have been able to get to one of these people who are in pain, you know, who is hurt, who is being bullied. And my, you know, stubbornness, and foolishness, and me, Big Ed, and I will give them encouragement and hope. So that in itself makes me feel really good about what I’m doing.
“90 Day Fiance: 90 Days” will begin on Sunday at 8 pm EST on TLC.
