72 dead in bloody attack on a sufi shrine in Pakistan

In a bomb attack on a holy place of sufism in Pakistan on Thursday at least 72 deaths. The attack is claimed by Islamic State.

Pakistani media report that a suicide bombing was committed by an offender for which he is blown up, a few people threw. There were lots of people gathered together for a ritual.

The attack was in Sehwan, in the south of the country, about 180 kilometers northeast of Karachi. The target was to the Lal Shahbaz Qalander shrine of the mystical and liberal movement in islam that sufism is called.

Islamic State (IS) claimed the attack in Sehwan on Thursday. According to the Pakistani government from Iraq back to no network in the country, but other, probably from Afghanistan-driven terrorists claim to be.

The last time suffering from the country under a new wave of terrorist violence after two years of relative calm. The country has more than 200 million inhabitants of whom only an estimated 8 million no islamite. Since the seventies, is growing the pressure of bigoted sunni currents on dissenters.

Sufism is an anathema to sunni extremists in Pakistan also committing attacks on shiites and christians. In november there was an attack on a stronghold of sufi’s in Baluchistan, to the west of the country, with about fifty deaths.
