’71 percent of migrants from North Africa exploited’
Sure 71 percent of the migrants from North Africa to Europe have fled, during the trip to Europe to be exploited or become victims of human trafficking.
This is evident from a survey of the refugee organisation, the IOM, under nine thousand migrants from Africa. 49 percent of them are against their will being held by human traffickers. That often happened in Libya.
Half of the migrants to come to work without getting paid. They were often threatened with firearms and had to work to be released or a place in a migrant’s boat to Europe to get hold of.
Also, there are more and more instances in which migrants are forced to blood or organ donation. Six percent of the respondents said forced blood to have surrendered or body as a means of payment, or to have seen someone in the area so was forced.
IOM is “extremely worried” about the abuse and exploitation of migrants by mensensmokkelaren. “We must remember that these people are deserving of protection, regardless of the reasons to leave,” said Dipti Pardeshi of the IOM.
