Royal Caribbean passengers aboard The Grandeur of the Seas are feeling less than grand after a gastrointestinal outbreak that is sick 47 passengers-to-date.
The liner departed Baltimore on Jan. 2 with approximately 2,900 guests and people of his staff on board, with stops planned in Charleston, S. C., Orlando, Fla., and the Bahamas.

Royal Caribbean spokesman Owen Torres told Fox News the route is adapted in the wake of the outbreak, and now return home on Jan. 12, instead of Jan. 10, as initially planned.
“Those affected by the short-lived illness treated by our ship of the doctors with over-the-counter medication, and we hope that all our guests feel better soon,” Torres said via e-mail. He added that the cause of the outbreak is still unknown at this time.

“We are taking steps, such as intensive sanitary procedures to minimize the risk of further problems. The ship will undergo special cleaning procedures before it leaves Saturday for a next cruise,” he wrote. In addition, all passengers on board are encouraged to wash their hands often.
As evidenced by recent photos shared on Instagram, the guests seem to enjoy their cruise.
