40 percent of Dutch people receive NL-Alert still not

Approximately 60 percent of the Dutch at the beginning of this month, the inspection report of the emergency service NL-Alert received. Four out of ten Dutch people received the message in error.

8.8 million people of 12 years and older have received the message, please notify the National Coordinator counter-Terrorism and Security Thursday on the basis of a sample of TNS NIPO.

In total, there are according to the CBS, 14.8 million Dutch people of 12 years and older. Of them got around 60 percent of the message that was sent out to the smartphone-alert system to the test. The inspection report that half a year earlier was sent, came to 8.3 million people (56 percent).

Messages of NL-Alert will be since this year, through all the networks broadcast, both on 3G as 4G. But not all phones receive the notifications by default. Some smartphone owners have their own setting for customizing. On the site of NL-Alert will be instructions given.

Sirens

From 2020, the cabinet wants to luchtalarmsirenes abolish. NL-Alert and notifications through television, radio and the internet the sirens then replaced.
