Four young boys were found Saturday in a filthy Dallas apartment, and their father was arrested, a report said.
The police were reportedly alerted after a neighbour said they saw a non-guided 3-year-old wearing a t-shirt and a shoe in the 40-degree weather.
Robert Preston, who is identified in The Dallas Morning News the boys’ father, was arrested on an unrelated active parole-violation warrant. He has reportedly told the police that he needed to be with the other children when he was in the patrol car.
The officers searched Preston’s apartment and found three other guys: a 2-year-old, a 5-year-old, and the 3-year-old twin brother, the report said. The apartment reeked of feces” and had no furniture, the paper reported, quoting the statement.

The officers, who allegedly said the kitchen sink “smelled like a dead animal.” One of the boys allegedly used a crusty SunnyD bottle as a cup. The boys, who do not know that their own names are referred to each other as Robert, the report said. The officers found a malnourished puppy in a closet covered with feces and it appeared that the children were not aware it was there, according to the report, with mention of the declaration.

The boys were in the care of Child Protective Services and the puppy was seized by animal control, the report said. Preston was in custody at the Dallas County jail Thursday. His bail is set at $ 80,000 and he is facing four counts of child endangering.
