$4.8 M in meth seized during several smuggling attempts, ” the CBP says

A series of drug busts by the agents of the Border Patrol of the past week led to approximately $4.8 million in meth being seized, officials said Monday.

The drugs were held in the Falfurrias checkpoint in Texas after the disruption of the “three separate methamphetamine smuggling attempts,” Customs and Border Protection said in a press release.

The first happened on Thursday at the checkpoint to the representatives of the six meth bundles with an estimated price tag of $1.8 million that were allegedly hidden in a man’s vehicle, CBP said.

The man, who is a U.S. citizen, was arrested, the agency said.

Almost 100 kilos of meth is believed to be worth more than $3 million seized in the weekend during the other two incidents, the CBP said.

The agency shared news of the arrest on Twitter, saying: it led to the drugs “will be held from our communities.”
