3800 deaths in Yemen since the beginning of the civil war
In Yemen since the beginning of the civil war in march 2015, almost 3800 civilians killed and 6711 people were injured by large-scale battles and shelling.
That says Oxfam Novib. More than 3 million people had to flee and more than 80 percent of the population is dependent on humanitarian aid to survive.
Half of the population has not enough food to eat. In some areas food aid by the warring parties intentionally prevented. Recent research with Oxfam Novib with the thousands of Yemenis said that had to flee, told the three-quarters of the respondents that they were forced to leave their homes as a result of air strikes, and one in five stated that their homes destroyed.
The organisation is convinced that the civil war in Yemen only ended by a political solution, involving the government, the warring parties evokes the peace negotiations.
