Three female teenagers were arrested in Arkansas on Monday after a Snapchat video showed they pretend to fire a Taser on a 1-year-old girl, police said.

The teens, who were not identified because they are minors, were taken to the Faulkner County Juvenile Detention Center on a first degree charge of endangering the welfare of a minor, the Conway police said.

A video posted on Snapchat showed the three teenagers who were babysitting the girl, challenging the child with a Taser. The alarmed toddler started crying and the teenagers were heard laughing in the background, police said. The video is included a smiling emoji. At a different point in the video, a teenager, seems to be smacking the child in the back of her head.

The baby’s mother took her daughter to the Conway Regional Medical Center after seeing the video.

“In the video you can see and hear the electrical prongs on the Taser lights,” Officer Brittani A. Klein wrote in a police report. “The baby is visibly scared and begins to cry and try to get away. You can hear the recording of the laugh and see [a second teenager] laugh.”

One of the teenagers, “runs until the end of the bed and stretches her arm out and zaps of the Taser two times in the child’s direction,” Little said.

Little said one of the young people told researchers they did not touch the child with the Taser, and two of the teenagers
the debt of the other for posting the video on Snapchat. The officer remarked: “none of them saw the injustice in their actions.”

The medical center examined the child and found that she was not injured. Mother and child were not mentioned in the police report.
